The 103 series is a DC commuter train that debuted in 1963 (Showa 38) during the Japanese National Railways (JNR) era.

The Sobu Line began commercial operation in 1979, providing through service from Chiba Station to Mitaka Station on the Chuo Line via Ochanomizu Station, and played a major role in commuter transport connecting the east and west of the Tokyo metropolitan area. However, commercial operation ended in March 2001.

The HB-E300 series Resort Shirakami (Aoike), a sightseeing train that has been operating between Akita Station and Aomori Station since 2010, is now available as PLARAIL.

The train features a body color inspired by the Aoiike Pond of Juniko Lakes and is equipped with a hybrid system. Onboard, passengers can enjoy events such as the magnificent scenery of the Shirakami Mountains and the Gono Line, as well as local performing arts.

From the "Heroes of Your Town" series, vehicles that are active in the towns and regions where everyone lives will appear!

The Yokohama Line connects Higashi-Kanagawa Station and Hachioji Station and is a popular line used by many commuters and students. It is one of the lines that JR East defines as the "Tokyo Megaloop." The E233 series began commercial operation on the Yokohama Line in 2014.
